Florence Arnold (1900-1994) is an important woman artist who was mentored by Karl Benjamin. Embracing a hard-edge abstract style, Arnold developed her personal form of geometric abstraction. We proudly exhibit the four canvases of Arnold’s historically significant series, Theme in a Square (1977) from our permanent collection. They provide clear evidence of Arnold’s personal creativity as well as Karl Benjamin’s rich and varied legacy. |

The nativity scenes displayed on the historic Euclid Avenue median have been a long-standing Christmas tradition in Ontario, California. They made their debut in 1958. Community leaders and service organizations funded the twelve life size scenes. Rudolph Vargas, a well-known Los Angeles artist and sculptor, was hired to create the Biblical figures. The final scene was added in 1976. See More |
